Wonderlings B&B
is situated
in the
beautiful, unspoilt village of Rooi Els, on
the
Eastern side of False Bay.

drives in
the world!
Rooi Els is a small, charming,
secluded village sandwiched between the sea and
the mountains, in
the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve. This was the first Biosphere
Reserve to be registered by the United Nations in Southern Africa -
an
acknowledgement of the remarkable diversity of plant species
in the area.

We lie at
the entrance to the Overberg region of the Cape, and are reached along a
tarred, mountain-hugging, coastal road with spectacular views and
whale-watching
opportunities (especially June to December). Have
your camera handy!
How to get here . .

Homes in the village of Rooi
Els
For motorists from Cape Town
and the Airport -
Take the N2
highway east towards Somerset West.
As you come past Somerset West do
NOT take the first R44
offramp to Broadway Blvd/Stellenbosch.
Keep on the N2
and you will notice the Somerset Mall shopping
centre on
your right. Continue for 8km, past 4 traffic lights and
a Shell
service station on your right, to the turnoff marked
"R44
Kleinmond/Gordon's
Bay". Turn
right and continue until
you
reach a T-junction.
Then turn left
(a sign indicates Rooi
Els.)
You are now on the most beautiful stretch of road and should
allow time to enjoy it!
Continue along the R44 coastal road for
21km until you
reach the Rooi Els estuary. 500 metres beyond the
bridge,
as you go around the bend, turn
left onto the dirt road.
Follow the signs to Wonderlings
B&B.
You will drive past Kogel Bay,
a
favourite with surfers!

For Motorists from Port
Elizabeth and the
Garden Route -
Travelling west along the N2
highway from Caledon to Cape
Town, take offramp No. 92 to
"Hermanus/Botrivier".
Turn left on the R43 and
continue towards Hermanus until
you come to the R44, signposted
"R44
Kleinmond".
Turn
right onto the R44.
Enjoy the
scenic drive to Kleinmond, past protea farms and
the Arabella
Country Estate golf course. After about 20km
you will reach
Kleinmond. Continue through the town and
past
Betty's
Bay and Pringle Bay villages, for a further
27km. The road
ascends gently, and when you come to the
crest of the mountain
and the view of the sea below takes
your breath away, you know
you have reached Rooi Els!
(Drivers, please keep your
eyes on the road and reduce
your speed to
60km/h!)

is on the right side of the
road and is
clearly signposted.
